🌮 Classic Beef Tacos Recipe
Ingredients
(Makes 8–10 tacos)
For the Taco Meat:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tsp chili powder
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- ½ tsp paprika
- ½ tsp oregano
- Salt and pepper to taste
- ½ cup (120ml) water or beef broth
- 1 tbsp tomato paste (optional, for richness)
For the Tacos:
- 8–10 small corn or flour tortillas
- Shredded lettuce
- Diced tomatoes
- Shredded cheddar or Mexican cheese blend
- Sour cream
- Salsa or hot sauce
- Fresh cilantro (optional)
- Lime wedges for serving
Instructions
1. Cook the Meat:
- Heat a skillet over medium heat.
- Add ground beef and chopped onion; cook until beef is browned and onion is soft.
- Add garlic and spices (chili powder, cumin, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper). Stir well.
- Add water or broth and tomato paste, stir, and simmer for 5–10 minutes until thickened.
2. Warm the Tortillas:
- Heat tortillas in a dry pan, in the oven, or microwave until warm and pliable.
3. Assemble the Tacos:
- Spoon the seasoned beef into each tortilla.
- Top with lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, sour cream, salsa, and any other toppings you like.
- Garnish with cilantro and serve with lime wedges.

- Chicken Tacos: Use cooked shredded chicken with taco seasoning.
- Fish Tacos: Use grilled or fried white fish with cabbage slaw and creamy sauce.
