🍝 Classic Garlic Butter Parmesan Pasta

Ingredients (Serves 2–3)

  • 8 oz (225g) pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or your choice)

  • 2 tbsp butter

  • 2 tbsp olive oil

  • 4 garlic cloves, minced

  • ½ tsp red pepper flakes (optional, for a little heat)

  • ½ cup (50g) grated Parmesan cheese

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

  • Juice of ½ lemon (optional, for brightness)


Instructions

  1. Cook the Pasta:

    • Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

    • Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente.

    • Reserve ½ cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.

  2. Make the Garlic Butter Sauce:

    • In a large skillet over medium heat, add butter and olive oil.

    • Once melted, add minced garlic and red pepper flakes.

    • Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant (don’t burn the garlic!).

  3. Toss the Pasta:

    • Add the cooked pasta to the skillet.

    • Toss to coat in the garlic butter sauce.

    • Add reserved pasta water a little at a time to help coat the noodles and create a light sauce.

  4. Add Cheese & Seasoning:

    • Stir in the Parmesan cheese.

    • Season with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice if using.

    • Toss well to combine everything.

  5. Serve:

    • Garnish with fresh parsley and more Parmesan on top.

    • Serve immediately and enjoy!


🍽 Variations:

  • Add sautéed shrimp, grilled chicken, or mushrooms for protein.

  • Mix in baby spinach or cherry tomatoes for extra color and flavor.

  • Use whole wheat or gluten-free pasta if preferred.
