🍔 Classic Hamburger Recipe
Ingredients (Makes 4 burgers)
For the Patties:
- 1 lb (450g) ground beef (80/20 for juiciness)
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- ½ tsp garlic powder (optional)
- ½ tsp onion powder (optional)
For Assembling:
- 4 hamburger buns
- Slices of cheddar cheese (optional)
- Lettuce leaves
- Tomato slices
- Onion slices (raw or grilled)
- Pickles
- Ketchup, mustard, mayo, or your favorite sauces

Prepare the Patties:
- In a bowl, gently mix the ground beef with salt, pepper, and optional spices. Don’t overwork the meat.
- Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape into patties about ¾-inch thick. Make a small indentation in the center of each patty to help them cook evenly.

Cook the Patties:
- Grill Method: Preheat grill to medium-high heat. Grill patties for 3–4 minutes per side for medium doneness. Add cheese in the last minute if using.
- Stovetop Method: Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Cook patties 3–4 minutes per side until cooked to desired doneness.

Toast the Buns:
- Lightly toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a skillet until golden brown.

Assemble the Burgers:
- Spread sauces on the buns.
- Add lettuce, tomato, onion, and pickles to the bottom bun.
- Place the hot patty on top (with melted cheese if using).
- Top with the other half of the bun.

- Don’t press down on the patties while cooking – it squeezes out juices.
- Use freshly ground beef for best flavor.
- Customize with extras like bacon, fried egg, jalapeños, or avocado.
